Chirology draws its deductions from the clues and signs of the hand, from its physical materiality. The classical chirologist studies the meanings of the hands based on their shape, color, warmth, moisture, firmness, appearance, the protrusions and lines of the palm, while paying attention to the most minute signs, also examining nails, hair, proportions...

Radiesthesia, when it explores the hand, prospects the aura and not physical clues and signs. Yet the aura of a hand is fluid and moving. While the examination performed by the chirologist in no way alters the main signs they observe, the radiesthetist's study "mobilizes" the aura of that hand.

However, the chirologist, while practicing a very precise analytical science, often operates by intuition; otherwise, the smallest chirological examination would require several days of study and notation. Therefore, one cannot reproach radiesthetic chirology for being a purely intuitive method of observing the hand.

To study a subject's hands, the radiesthetist can use, like the chirologist, their actual hands or prints obtained using ink. But they will find it much easier to prospect, with a pendulum, the various hand diagrams proposed in this book, whether in the presence of a subject, whose hands will then only be witnesses, or when operating remotely for a distant subject, using any witness of that person (photo, hair, or simply the name).
