Here is a very practical disc to take any measurement. It suffices to first determine the standard, then to read the point that the pendulum will find. Convenient measuring instrument, because simple and compact.
Many operators find it difficult to count with a pendulum. The number of revolutions or beats is “fuzzy”; the pendulum continues to swing or swing weakly after the result, making it very vague. This is why various authors recommend using a Servranx Universal Ruler or a disc.
Here is a very practical disc for taking any measure, a convenient measuring instrument because it is very simple and takes up little space.
After having looked with the pendulum for the standard of measurement (to know for example if it is necessary to count in meter, in decimeter or in kilometer…), one will hold the pendulum above the center of the disc. Trying to remain passive, one will want to find the number sought. We will soon see the pendulum oscillate in the direction of a point on the circumference. If we then carry the pendulum above this point, it will be easy to obtain the absolutely exact point which will correspond to the number sought.
