Here is a very practical disc for taking any measurement. Simply determine the standard first, then read the point that the pendulum indicates. A convenient measuring instrument, because it is simple and compact.

Many operators find it difficult to count with a pendulum. The number of revolutions or beats is "blurry"; the pendulum continues to oscillate or swing weakly after the result, making it very vague. This is why several authors recommend using a Servranx Universal Rule or a disc.

Here is a very practical disc for taking any measurement, a convenient measuring instrument because it is very simple and takes up little space.

After having used the pendulum to search for the measurement standard (to know, for example, whether to count in meters, decimeters, or kilometers…), the pendulum should be held above the center of the disc. While trying to remain passive, one will want to find the sought-after number. We will soon see the pendulum oscillate in the direction of a point on the circumference. If we then move the pendulum above this point, it will be easy to obtain the absolutely exact point that will correspond to the sought-after number.
